About the Pinal County Interactive Television Consortium   Formed in August 2005, the Pinal County Interactive Television Consortium promotes and provides support for videoconferencing in Central Arizona. Eleven school districts, one Joint Technology Education District, one community college and one business partner are members. The Consortium employees a full-time technician and part-time director to help provide content and maintain over forty videoconference sites in Pinal, Graham and Maricopa Counties. For more about the Consortium click here.   Pinal County Interactive Television Consortium News   Peer Coach Retreat Enhancing Education Through Technology Grant Peer Coach Facilitators met September 11 to plan for the 2008-09 school year. Peer Coaches in Eloy Elementary, Florence Unified, Gila Bend Unified and Ray Unified Districts will be helping teachers integrate technology in their classrooms. Teachers who participate in the project will receive technology equipment such as interactive white boards, document camers and LCD projectors to use with their students. Vistas Project from Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC) Interdisciplinary teacher teams from Eloy Elementary and Ray Unified Districts are implementing real-world, problem solving, project based instruction with their 7th and 8th grade students. The teachers started the project last spring with training provided through videoconferencing by Bev Mattocks from the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration in Indiana. Eloy students will be surveying their community to look at the challenges that prevent them from achieving their dreams. Ray students will be researching the high number of traffic accidents on highways in their area. Both student teams will be presenting their projects to the public next spring.    CILC          CILC Vistas Project   Enhancing Education Through Technology Grant   The Pinal County ITv Consortium Partnership was fully funded for 2007 - 09. Member districts include Eloy Elementary, Florence Unified, Gila Bend Unified and Ray Unifed. They will work in partnership with ASSET, CAVIT and busines partner, Trillion, to improve technology literacy and reading skills in K-12 students.
